Tips and Tricks for Non-Spenders

Disclaimer:
Tips and tricks for Non-Spenders are also usefulf or Spenders, so be sure to read both if you're a Spender. As noted below under the Spender section: You do not HAVE to be a Spender to play this game. We also do not require that you spend money on the game to be a member of our alliance. Everyone has a different life situation, some will spend lots on the game, some with spend little, some with spend nothing. All of these are OK with us.

Train Lots of Extra Troops!

Impact:
High

Good:
Have enough troops to have all 4 legions take a tile in 1 hit.

Great:
Have enough troops to till all 4 legions twice!

Troops are a precious resource during ROC. Each season, tiles get harder and harder to take, and you will lose more troops each season. Its important to start the season with as many troops of the highest tier you can train as possible. The primary troop type you should be training is footment, so you can take occupied tiles with 1 hit. Cavalry are also useful to take unoccupied tiles quicker, but footmen are crucial.

Save up Stone!

Impact:
High

Good:
Have 25K stone saved at the start of the Season. 15K to donate, 10K for your buildings.

Great:
Have 100K stone saved at the start of the Season. 90K to donate, 10K for your buildings.

Stone is used by the alliance to build AC's, move player buildings, and many other functions during ROC. Stone is used to build your buildings at each AC. You also get season contribution points for donating stone to the alliance during the ROC season. You will need 10K stone to build your own buildings, then you can donate your remaining stone to the alliance.

Warning:
You get season contribution points for donating Stone to the alliance during the season. DO NOT donate stone between seasons, you will not get contribution points.

Build a War Farms (or two!)

Impact:
High (for the Alliance)

Good:
Castle Level: 19+
Dragon Slayer Bolts: 20

Great:
Castle Level: 19+
Dragon Slayer Bolts: 25+
2 Legions with > 500 demolition

War farms are farms that have reached level 19 and can defend against dragon shouts. War farms MUST have built the Dragon Slayer and keep stocked up on Dragon Slayer Bolts. Trader farms generate the most gold which makes them well-suited for this type of farm, but any farm can be a War Farm.

War farms can also be helpful in tile cleanup after wars. To be helpful in cleanup, it helps to try to increase your honor level on your war farm to at least be able to take Zone 2 tiles. It is also helpful to try to stock up on T6/T7 footment on these farms to take tiles in 1 hit.

Depending on how active you want to be on your war farm(s), they can turn into secondary accounts, so be sure to be realistic about the time commitment and what you want for your war farm(s). Just stocking up on Bolts is good enough to help in RoC war defense!

Tips and Tricks For Spenders

Disclaimer:

Everyone has a different life situation, some will spend lots on the game, some with spend little, some with spend nothing. All of these are OK with us. This section is just advice for those of you that are going to be spending on the game, to help you spend your money where it will have the most impact.

Construction Material Packages

Impact:
High

Cost:
Packs: $10 - $100

Construction Materials are used to upgrade workshops, guardian fortresses, and assualt fortresses. Processed construction materials are lost each season. The construction materials that are in your bags however are able to be saved for the next season. At the start of a season, you can get a BIG boost if you all of a sudden have millions of construction materials that others don't have. You can instantly upgrade your workshops to a level that others will take weeks to achieve.

Note:

These packs are available throughout the season. So the packs you purchase should be left unopened until the start of the next season. The best packs are the ones that are $10 for 500,000 materials. There is a second pack that is $20 for 800,000 materials. There are also $100 packs if you want to spend more, but those two are the best bang-for-your-buck.

Troop Packages

Impact:
Medium

Cost:
Packs: $10 - $100

One of the difficult things about ROC is taking high level tiles, and still having troops at the end of the week... Especially if you are taking poisoned tiles! One trick you can do is to purchase some troops from troop packs before the season begins, and use them when you run out of troops during the season.

In some cases, you can actually purchase troops which are higher level than you can train (for instance purchasing T9 troops). Since these troops dont die when used for ROC activities (as well as for BattleField of Honor), they can be used and healed for a long time. Just make sure you dont use them for KE if you cant train that level of troop!
